New Ebay Shop

My intention is to use the Ebay shop to sell smaller items such as cards. I currently have some cards in my Etsy shop:

but I have reduced the price to a pound each until the end of March as I want to clear some space in that shop for the artwork that I’ve been making instead. I’m quite excited about the new items that will go in the Etsy shop very soon. I’ve made cute little robots in various poses such as the one I made below of Slash from Guns ‘n’ Roses. 

I also have a scary steampunk lady mixed media art piece to list that really gave me the chills as I was creating her, she has 3D teeth, holographic lips and she glows in the dark!

National Craft Month

It's National Craft Month and I've been busy making art and crafting things for myself and for my Etsy shop. The official Craft Month was created by the Craft and Hobby Association in 1994, you can read more about it here:

NATIONAL CRAFTING MONTH - March 2021 | National Today

The aim of crafting month is to encourage people to be creative, to learn new crafts, find new hobbies or revisit old ones. 

This month I have been delving into my extensive button collection to use in several mixed media art pieces which are now in my shop. The inspiration for these was all the keys that I had amassed in a pot in my shed over the years and some tiny hearts and buttons that I've been collecting from my daughter's broken jewelry from when they were small. I have kept one of these projects for myself as many of the keys and hearts are very personal to me.

This piece is called 'Key to My Heart' and to me, represents the links between my family and myself, across the generations. 

This one (not for sale) has a key (top right) that was for my Grandad's writing bureau, which I loved as it had secret compartments, tiny doors, and many drawers filled with wonderful inventions, which to the small child that I was, seemed like treasures. The yale house keys in the middle represent all the houses that I have lived in and raised my children in (who I am very proud of). I have moved house 21 times in my life and have now returned to my childhood home where I took my first steps as a baby and became a rebellious teenager. The key on the top left (which isn't a key really, it's an iPhone tool) represents the link between myself and my little Granddaughter who was born last year during the pandemic. Sadly I've only had a chance to play with her a few times in between lockdowns so the 'key' represents the quality time we have had via facetime.
